A New Orleans native, Carol received her BA in Art from the University of New Orleans, before moving to Copenhagen and studying museum works throughout Europe. Upon her return she studied at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts under Auseklis Ozols and Kinzey Branham, and went on to receive her MFA from Penn State University. She has taught at Penn State, Louisiana State University, University of New Orleans and the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts, where she is presently on faculty.
Carol’s work has been exhibited internationally, and some of her recent works can be found at the Academy Galleries and the Garden District Gallery of New Orleans.
She began THE BLUE EASEL CLUB in April of 2009, founded on the idea that one cannot just study art; one has to live the life of an artist. Inspired by one of her greatest mentors in life, master photographer Johnny Donnels, she encourages her students to continue his tradition of living life to the fullest, being open to every moment and expressing their observations of life through art.
